Job Purpose Statement: Music is highly valued at Desert Marigold School and is integral to our curriculum which is guided by the Core Principles of Public Waldorf Education. The Accompanist provides musical accompaniment supporting the Eurythmy and Choir classes. 

Salary Range: $25 per period. (45-50 mins)

Hours: Part-Time, approx. 25 hours per week (class schedule available)

Reports to: Executive Director and Eurythmist 

Qualifications:

• Accomplished pianist with a strong background in traditional and contemporary music

• Bachelor’s degree required, Master

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform repertoire for Eurythmy classes of Western classical piano music which includes improvisation

• Perform repertoire for choir classes ranging from musical theater to choral classics to arrangements of pop music 

• Work in close partnership with the Eurythmy and Choir teacher(s)

• Punctuality and reliability 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Required: 

• Proficiency in a Classical repertoire

• Ability to sight read and improvise or interpret creatively

• Ability to work collaboratively as an integral part of a team with other faculty on performances

• Flexibility in schedule and times

• Excellent communication skills

• Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development

• Willingness to learn about the core principles of Public Waldorf education arising from the understanding of child development set forth by Rudolf Steiner 

Experience Requirements: Prior accompanist experience preferred

Licenses, Certifications, Bonding and/or Testing Required:  AZ DPS Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card, Clear TB Test, CPR/First Aid Certifications
